Connecting Arts
Founded in 2005, Connecting Arts is the first group of its kind in the UK. Their unique proposition of combining various art forms in groundbreaking ways is making a huge mark on the musical life of the UK. Connecting Arts draws its artists from all of the UK's most distinguished music and drama conservatoires as well as the UK's most prestigious orchestras. These include the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra and many others. Their distinctive intention was recognised by Deutsche Bank when they awarded Connecting Arts with the highly regarded Pyramid Award in 2005. The Brass Quintet of Connecting Arts (Live Brass!) is Kate Moore, Simon Sturgeon-Clegg, Stephen Nicholls, Stephen Turton and Daniel Trodden. The quintet has performed at many events in and around London including the 250th Anniversary of the Mark Masons at the Royal Albert Hall to an audience of 5000 and a live link up on the World Wide Web!

Elvis to the Stars
Lou Jordan presents “Elvis to the Stars”, his amazing entertainment homage to “The King”.
Lou has an incredible ability to engage the whole audience with his versions of some of the greatest Elvis songs of all time.
The Elvis to the Stars phenomenon has performed for a host of international celebrities including Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Mickey Rourke, US TV stars Jerry Springer and Don Johnson and music legends Whitesnake and Bee Gee Robin Gibb.
With his singing voice of uncanny likeness to the King, you might think you are being deceived….is Elvis really in the building?

These young London hillbillies, all veterans of several signed acts, are seasoned festival & tour performers who’ve shared bills with the likes of The Charlatans, Alabama 3, Brakes, Foals, Nine Black Alps, Garth Hudson from The Band, Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze, Danny & The Champions of the World, Findlay Brown, Dogs, Buck 65, Idlewild and many, many more.
The songs result from singer Andy Gyves regularly turning up at guitarist Dan Clark’s East London flat with tunes in his head and a whisky bottle in his hand.
With Dan contributing chords and 2 glasses, the two realised that between them they could assemble all the essential elements for songwriting.
Along with bass player Simon Julian and drummer J Hirano, they consumed more whisky and recorded an EP in Dan’s front room.
The results transplant Manchester to the Mississippi. From the boy Gyves’ distinctive vocals, you’d swear the blues was born in Burnage; that country came from Collyhurst.
The cinematic songs feature tales of outlaws facing lynch mobs, generals in bunkers, mountain explorers, bankrupt gamblers, crying lovers, and framed detainees. "It's just about slaying your demons by singing your heart out", says Dan matter-of-factly. "We get stuff off our chests and have a good time doing it".
Live, the band's shuffling rock'n'roll grooves boast all the British energy and swagger of Kasabian or the Stone Roses, uniquely fused with guitar work and harmonies that knowingly nod towards Americana greats like Little Feat, JJ Cale, Ryan Adams and Bob Dylan, proving that catchy tunes with big sing-a-long choruses can still be danceable.
It’s early days yet, but with a summer of festival gigs under their belt, a rapidly multiplying nationwide fanbase and offers flying in, the future looks bright...
