Good food is the order of the day at this recently opened, culinary pub. The ground floor Bar menu changes through the seasons and currently includes starters or light lunches of Layered terrine of chicken, foie gras, red onion marmalade served with frisse chervil salad; English goats cheese & red pepper tartlet served with lambs tongue salad; Timbale of smoked salmon served with horseradish cream & beetroot. Main courses include Black-Welsh Beef Wellington served with glazed hand turned vegetables & red wine jus; Pan fried salmon with oysters and saffron beurre blanc; or Pancetta wrapped Cob chicken breast with creamed leeks, sauté potatoes & tarragon foam. More formal dining is available in the first floor restaurant serving seasonal recipes where the atmosphere, architecture and a la carte menu have a definite British flavour. On the lower ground floor, The Gin House provides a late night bar until 1.30am (except Sundays) serving gins and gin cocktails as well as speciality wines, beers and spirits.
