The Royal Society of Medicine was established in 1805 as a meeting place for men of medicine. Today, it provides postgraduate education and professional development for doctors and healthcare professionals, in almost 60 specialist areas. The Society organise hundreds of meetings and events each year, many of which are open to the public.
