International Women's Day: Margaret Dabbs London

Q&A with beauty expert and founder of Margaret Dabbs London

Tell us about your role and your business.

I am CEO and founder of Margaret Dabbs London. I am a strong leader and I provide the vision and ideas to drive the business forward.

What inspired you to choose a career in beauty?

I saw a gap in the market to create effective yet luxurious food products. Beauty products didn’t work and pharmacy formulations were unpleasant to use so I set about sourcing ingredients from around the world and mixed formulas to use initially in my own clinic.

Based on your own experience, what advice would you have for women wanting to get into your industry, or start a business of their own?

Believe in yourself with all your heart and then just go for it. Nothing that is worth having comes easy. It will be tough and lonely at times, but so fulfilling when you achieve your dreams.

What do you love most about being positioned in Marylebone Village?

I have lived and worked in Marylebone Village for many years and it is a wonderful place to be.It is a thriving destination known for its high-end quality that offers an eclectic mix of retailers and services.

Tell us about your career journey so far.

My first clinic was in Marylebone Village, and today, I have 14 clinics in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. My products are sold at high-end retailers across the globe, and the Margaret Dabbs London services are performed at some of the most luxurious hotels around the world.

Have you faced any obstacles you’ve had to overcome in your business?

I have always been underestimated – not everyone understood what I was trying to achieve.  I’m proud to have achieved this whilst managing to bring up children and balance a home life.

Do you have any tips on how to run a successful business?

Listen to everyone, and you are nothing without your employees.
