Marylebone in Conversation: Jorum Studio
Q&A with Chloe Mullen, co-founder of Jorum Studio.
Tell us about Jorum Studio and what makes it unique?
Jorum is a Scottish fragrance brand that crafts every product in-house. Our Made in Scotland provenance is unique and fundamental to who we are. Our perspective on modern perfumery is ever-evolving, driven by a relentless passion for distinctive, boundary-pushing fragrances.
What do you love most about being based in Marylebone Village?
Marylebone Village feels like a hamlet within London; where you can slow down and really enjoy your time. Our first store is in Edinburgh’s Stockbridge, affectionately called ‘The Village’ by locals, so it feels fitting to have our second store – our first in London – in Marylebone Village.
Which women have inspired you most throughout your life?
I’m one of three sisters, raised among inspiring female role models who encouraged us to be fearless and authentic. That environment shaped me early on, and I’ve always felt drawn to pioneering creatives; women who pushed boundaries and trusted their vision. From the quiet radicalism of Hilma af Klint and the human-centred brilliance of Ray Eames, to the expressive world of India Mahdavi, their work feels like a continuation of the values I grew up with.
What has been your proudest achievement in your career or for Jorum Studio?
Opening our store at 2 Marylebone Street is a joyful milestone. Inviting new audiences into the world of Jorum, while creating a welcoming, home-away-from-home space for our London community, is a very proud moment.
What does International Women's Day mean to you?
International Women's Day honours not just visible achievements, but the quiet strength, care and courage that shape lives behind the scenes. It reminds me to celebrate how far we’ve come and to be purposeful about how I support and uplift other women every day.
