Merry Marylebone: Activities to enjoy on the day
Festive activities at this year’s Merry Marylebone Christmas lights switch on event!
Wreath making workshops
We all knew the festive season had arrived when Christmas wreaths began to appear on front doors, and this year many visitors were able to hang up their very own seasonal designs. At the Merry Marylebone Christmas Lights Switch-On event, guests joined The Flower Appreciation Society for a series of Christmas wreath-making workshops.
Using fresh seasonal evergreen foliage and decorations that were provided, participants started from scratch and made a wreath to take home and display throughout the festive season. They were encouraged to book their slots before they all sold out.
Candle painting workshops
Visitors added a touch of personalisation to their Christmas celebrations and enjoyed festive candle-painting workshops in partnership with Cult Milk. They painted and personalised one vegan pillar candle with advent calendar numbering to count down to Christmas Day, along with a pair of tapered candles - perfect for celebrating Christmas or gifting to a loved one.
Santa Claus came to Marylebone Village
We were excited to bring back the ever-popular Santa’s Grotto to Marylebone High Street on Wednesday 12th November from 3–7pm. Families enjoyed a magical meet-and-greet with the jolly man himself, who ho-ho-hoed and handed out gifts to children.
Donations were set at £7, with all proceeds going towards this year’s charity partner, The Marylebone Project.
Santa’s Grotto was located at the top of Marylebone High Street, opposite the Ferris Wheel.
